READRAMBLE / PRIVACY
Privacy policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Readramble is a reading and language-learning app operated by Kirill Diordiev in Kazakhstan. Contact: devel@kodors.net.
Information used by the app
Books you import, reading progress, saved words, review history and settings are stored on your device. When you request a contextual explanation, the app sends the selected word and its surrounding sentence, language and related context to a server, which forwards the request to Anthropic to generate an explanation. Avoid requesting explanations for text you do not want sent to these services. The app offers a choice to use offline translation instead.
The app creates a random installation identifier used to register the installation and enforce service limits. If usage statistics are enabled, the app queues events about interactions such as screens, taps and reviews, along with installation and app context; the event catalog does not include book text. The current app setting enables statistics by default and allows you to turn them off in the library menu. Turning it off does not itself establish deletion of previously sent data.
When you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and message. Network providers can receive technical information such as your IP address when you connect. The website itself does not use analytics scripts or advertising cookies. Hosting and network providers may process connection data in operating the service.
Purposes and legal bases
We use contextual requests to provide explanations you request; installation identifiers to operate, secure and rate-limit the service; usage events to understand and improve the app; and correspondence to respond to you. The applicable legal bases for these activities are under review. You can disable usage statistics in the app; where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it.
Recipients, transfers and retention
Anthropic processes contextual explanation requests. Hosting, network and backup providers may process data to operate the service. Requests may be processed in countries other than your own, including outside the European Economic Area. We are reviewing the locations and transfer safeguards used by our providers; contact us for current information.
If the Readramble analytics server is in use, it is configured to delete raw events after 13 months; backups and other systems may retain data for different periods. Retention for service logs, installation records, AI provider data and backups depends on the systems operating the service and is under review. Locally stored app data remains on your device until removed through the app or device; device backups may retain copies.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy of data, withdraw consent, and complain to a data protection authority. California residents may also have rights to know, delete and correct personal information, opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising their rights. Applicable exceptions and verification requirements may apply.
To exercise your rights, email devel@kodors.net. An authorized agent may contact us on your behalf; we may request evidence of their authority and verify your identity where appropriate. Because server records may be associated with a random installation identifier rather than your name, we may need information that lets us identify relevant records without collecting unnecessary information.
California disclosures
The categories, sources, purposes and recipients described above reflect the app’s design. We are reviewing whether any processing constitutes a sale or sharing under California law, whether sensitive personal information is used or disclosed, and how browser Do Not Track signals and third-party activity are handled. Contact us with questions or requests about these practices.
